Rivers T. Jenkins, III is a native of Charleston and a partner of the Firm. After receiving his law degree, Mr. Jenkins began practicing in Charleston as a general civil litigator, with an emphasis on admiralty and maritime law. He is admitted to practice in the State of South Carolina, the United States District Court for South Carolina, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Jenkins' litigation experience includes cargo/transportation, personal injuries, vessel arrests and foreclosure, and complex commercial litigation. In addition to membership in the South Carolina and Charleston County Bar Associations, Mr. Jenkins is active in local, regional and national maritime organizations. He is a member of The Propeller Club of the United States. As a member of the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute, he has served as that organization's Charleston Port Director. Mr. Jenkins is also a member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States.
Mr. Jenkins graduated with a B.A. in economics from the University of Georgia. He received his law degree from the University of South Carolina in 1991. Mr. Jenkins is a co-author of "Shipping Law", 22 S.C. Juris. He has also participated in the Charleston County Bar Association CLE program as a lecturer on admiralty law.
