R. Randall Bridwell concentrates his practice in admiralty and maritime law.  He currently teaches admiralty as a Professor of Law at the Charleston School of Law.

Professor Bridwell has taught admiralty law since 1972, has authored numerous books and legal articles and has served as counsel with admiralty firms throughout his career.  Professor Bridwell is admitted to practice before the Federal District Court for the District of South Carolina and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.  He earned an LL.M. from Harvard University in addition to a J.D. from Southern Methodist University and a B.A. from Midwestern University.

Professor Bridwell has lectured and presented papers throughout the United States to groups including the American Trial Lawyers Association, the Southeastern Association of Law Schools and the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute, of which he is a former port director for Charleston, South Carolina.

Professor Bridwell’s several books and articles include Admiralty Contract Jurisdiction and Contract Liens Under American Law, The Constitution and the Common Law: A Decline Of The Doctrines Of Separation of Power in Federalism, and Abandoned: The Betrayal Of The American Middle Class Since World War II, which is currently in its fourth printing.
